Premiere: Lu.Re ‘Certain Way’

East London’s Lu.Re follows her debut EP with two smoky, vocal garage cuts

Premiere: Lu.Re ‘Certain Way’

East London-based DJ, producer and singer-songwriter Lu.Re will release her latest two-tracker, ‘Certain Way/Bound’ in October. Listen to ‘Certain Way’ below.

The artist follows her May debut EP, ‘Ruminate’ – in which she navigated a recent OCD diagnosis with introspective lyrics and viola-accompanied UKG – with two smoky cuts that feel fully focused on the dancefloor. Combining snappy two-step beats, dubwise bass wobbles and jazzy pianos with velvety vocals and live viola, it’s an impressive follow-up for the burgeoning producer, who's clearly falling into step with their own personal sound here.

‘Certain Way’ starts with a subtly off-kilter piano motif, which stumbles on the track’s thumping beat. It’s a neat trick that makes for a properly satisfying pay-off when everything falls back into place with a phat bass growl and classique garage vocal hook.

‘Certain Way/Bound’ will be released on Friday 7th October. You’ll be able to buy it through Lu.Re’s Bandcamp.
