Premiere: Lila Tirando a Violeta ‘Aguas Violentas’

Lila Tirando A Violeta will release her new album, ‘Desire Path’, via Mexico City’s NAAFI label on 8th April. Listen to the ‘Aguas Violentas’ featuring Colombian producer Verraco below.

The Montevideo, Uruguay artist’s second release for the label follows 2020’s 'Limerencia’, which saw her fitting into the NAAFI catalogue comfortably with eight thunderous, experimental club music. Like that record, ‘Desire Path’ offers some of the producer’s most dancefloor-focused music to date, while retaining the luminous, shapeshifting genre-agnosticism that has always made her music so exciting, from her vaporwave-infused ambient releases and dancefloor-geared R&B to her takes on experimental hyperpop as part of the duo A.M.I.G.A.

A keen collaborator, the album sees Lila Tirando a Violeta team up with Nicola Cruz, Loris, Merca Bae & PRJCTN, Dengue Dengue Dengue, Sueuga, Verraco and Sayveeyun. Her heavily altered vocals jump and slice through syncopated drums, industrial FX and field recordings throughout the release, while pre-hispanic ocarinas and flutes are woven through electronic melodies, tying the past to music that feels utterly futuristic.
