Kuttin Edge is dropping a new EP, ‘Chop Mane’, later this week. Have an exclusive first listen to ‘Dakar’ from it below.

After recent releases on Locked Concept and Detail Recordings, the Hamburg-based DJ and producer debuts on Soul In Motion with four cuts of drum & bass heat forged in the depths of the London label’s illustrious club nights. Swerving from tough and skittering to warm and melodic, Kuttin Edge — whose name harks back to his former hip-hop-inspired DJ style — continues to experiment across the d&b spectrum on his newest release, earning plaudits from genre heavyweights including Doc ScottKrust and Klute.

Kicking off the project, ‘7 Stars’ oscillates between heavy breaks and sweet melodic sections with whimsical samples, before ‘Dakar’ and ‘Chop Mane’ showcase the producer’s flair for brooding atmosphere and fully-charged, weighty beats. ‘Eye of Horus’ (which landed as a single last month) rounds out the set with lashings of dark and devilish synthwork and ricocheting rhythms. This is Kuttin Edge continuing to live up to his name.

‘Chop Mane’ is out 5th April. Pre-order the EP here, and have an exclusive first listen to ‘Dakar’ below.
