Premiere: Eusebeia ‘Shadow Work’

Eusebeia returns to RuptureLDN with four cuts of thunderous jungle breaks, depth-charge sub bass and stargazing synths

Eusebeia returns to RuptureLDN this week with the ‘Restoration’ EP. Listen to ‘Shadow Work’ below.

The prolific jungle producer follows his recent ‘X’ LP for Samurai Music with a fresh four-tracker, fusing thunderous breaks, depth-charge sub bass and stargazing synths into a typically cosmic package. The tracks date back to 2021, around the same time his debut for RuptureLDN came out.

In the two years since, the Wiltshire-based artist has appeared on labels including Western Lore, Livity Sound, Diffrent Music and Rebellion Electronics, bringing his philosophy-inspired genre fusions with him to every release. “Music is a very soulful or spiritual thing, whether one is aware of it or not, and it can be healing and self-reflective,” he told DJ Mag in a 2021 interview.

This new EP wields that same thematic thrust, with recurring nods to the pursuit of hope at times when it seems lost. It’s felt in the opening track, ‘Optimyst’, in which synth arpeggios glitter over propulsive breaks; in ‘Restoration’, a voice carries a message of darkness moving into light, echoed in the euphoric closer, ‘Darkest Before The Dawn’. “This EP seems even more apt given the state of how some things are in the world today,” wrote Eusebeia of the release in an Instagram post

‘Shadow Work’ manipulates its spectral atmosphere with a dexterous hand, reshaping it into an eyes down drumfunk roller, with faint glimmers of melody bouncing off its razor sharp breaks.

‘Restoration’ will be released this Friday 24th November. Pre-order it on vinyl and digital via RuptureLDN’s Bandcamp.
