From their hometown of West Lothian – a small historic town between Glasgow and Edinburgh – the Scottish duo have been honing their radiant brand of house music that tugs on strands of euphoric techno, disco, and beyond. Following their debut release on Livery Street Social Club in December, and the big room successor ‘The Sting’, CTRL return with a bright and colourful new cut that conjures up the sunshine.

On ‘Groove Check’, slinky nu-disco melodies and floor-filling grooves are cushioned by funk inflections and the duo’s signature driving percussion. It’s a major diversion from the tunnelling house and techno textures of the duo’s earlier releases (see: ‘Wackus Donkus’), but one they take on with ease and flair, especially as the new track reaches its hip-swinging crescendo. CTRL are only just getting started.

‘Groove Check’ is out 1st March. Have an exclusive first listen to the single below.
