Premiere: Baalti ‘Marigold’
San Francisco-based duo Baalti return to Krunk Kulture with a thumping “love letter to 80s Bolly Disco”

The San Francisco-based Indian duo, who released their self-titled debut EP earlier this year, describe their latest outing as a “love letter to 80s Bolly Disco”. Like on their first release, the pair stitch samples from classic Indian records into contemporary house beats with a painterly touch, creating two buoyant dancefloor jams that crackle with a sweet, addictive sense of nostalgia.
“We were really just trying to capture the excitement and playfulness of that era, but through the lens of modern club culture,” Baalti said of the release. “Zoning in on groove, staying in the pocket, rhythm and movement before everything else. Keeping it crunchy and locked in."
