Alinka will release a new EP, ‘Edgewater’, via her Twirl imprint later this week. Have an exclusive first listen to ‘Weather The Storm’ below.

Named after the producer’s old neighbourhood in Chicago, where she was raised after fleeing Ukraine as a refugee in the late ‘80s, Alinka’s third EP comes steeped in hope, solace, and perennial house charm. Across three new tracks, the artist – now based in Berlin – swoops through lush expanses of star-gazing house and striding techno topped with low-slung acid lines that’ll do serious business on the dancefloor.

It’s a perfect fit for the producer’s resurgent Twirl imprint, which she relaunched last summer alongside co-founder and former Hercules and Love Affair vocalist, Shaun J. Wright. ‘Edgewater’ – out 8th March – continues to carve out this bright new era for the label, following the release of the synth-soaked ‘Day Dreamer’ EP last July, and October’s club-oriented successor ‘Sorry For Not Trending’.

Speaking on the new EP’s inspiration, Alinka shared: “We used to ride the Red Line train and drive down Lake Shore Drive at night listening to music and soaking in the city lights. Those experiences shaped me. I want to create that timeless energy on the dancefloor that Chicago House is to me.”

Founded in 2014 as a hotbed for classic house hits with a “fresh, forward-thinking attitude”, Twirl Recordings became populated with Alinka and Shaun J. Wright’s own heavyweight productions, alongside music from Serge G.LA-4AVirginia, and Spencer Parker.

Alongside relaunching the imprint, Alinka has also released music through prominent labels including Permanent Vacation, NeedWant, HE.SHE.THEY, and Rekids, where she dropped her ‘I’m Not Your Ghost’ EP in September last year.

‘Edgewater’ is out 8th March via Twirl Recordings. Pre-save the EP here, and have an exclusive first listen to ‘Weather The Storm’ below.
