Techno icon DJ Rush picks 10 amazing pre-party tracks

Music to get you in the mood for the rave from a techno icon with an unwavering love of bass...

DJ Rush is a techno icon.

A selector since the late '80s, cutting his teeth with a residency at the Reactor in Chicago, he quickly became a central figure in the city’s scene.

Through the '90s and '00s he became revered for his rhythmic style and the relentless energy in his sets as well as in-your-face anthems like 'Motherfucking Bass' and dubbier cuts including 'Dax Up Beat'. He has also released techno royalty in the shape of Jeff Mills, much slept on producers including Paul Langley and his own aliases Russian Roulette and Major Rush on his still prolific Kne' Deep label.

Maintaining a relentless touring schedule, DJ Rush has been locked for huge bookings at Awakenings Festival in June and the Gashouder at Amsterdam Dance Event this year. He also plays Nina Kraviz’s трип showcase on Friday 15th June as part of the OFFSónar series at Poble Espanyol – which runs from Thursday 14th to Sunday 17th June.
