Stormin, the drum & bass and grime MC, has passed away through illness.
An original member of pioneering grime outfit N.A.S.T.Y Crew alongside Kano, D Double E and many more, Stormin built himself a rep in the early days of the genre, and continued to work with grime acts throughout his career.
In 2014, Stormin joined forces with fellow MCs Skibadee, Shabba D and Harry Shotta to form d&b outfit SASASAS, going on to tour the world as part of the powerhouse group.
In 2016, he revealed he was battling Stage 2 skin cancer, which had spread to his neck. He was particularly open about the subject, updating fans from the hospital via his Twitter account and chronicling his fight on album '#BRB (Be Right Back)'.
Later that year Stormin posted that he had beaten the cancer, however in January he reported he was back in hospital as he had been unable to breathe or swallow.
News of his death spread across social media this morning, with fellow artists and fans sending tributes and condolences.

I’m so so glad I got to spend a few more hours sitting with Stormin and his wonderful family and friends before his passing.
I saw him perform, still just a boy, at Stratford EQ’s before Grime was even a genre nearly 20 years ago.
Now he’s gone.
Rest easy sir. A true legend.
