Premiere: Mella Dee ‘DG Redux’

Unstoppable UK force Mella Dee’s new EP on his own Warehouse Music imprint is fierce – ‘DG Redux’ is yet another disco-fuelled belter...

Mella Dee has been something of an unstoppable force this past year. Since launching his own Warehouse Music imprint – which was crowned DJ Mag’s Best Breakthrough Label in our 2017 Best Of British Awards – he has been putting out record after record of high energy club tracks with a loving eye being ever-cast to playful disco flavours.

Following 2017’s eruptive ‘Techno Disco Tool’ – a release which propelled the South Yorkshire-born, London based DJ/producer even further into the limelight – Mella Dee is now set to release the ‘Donny’s Goove’ EP this Friday 11th May.

A three-track selection of full throttle house groove, frantic disco vocal sampling and rattling percussion, this is the sort of energy we’ve come to expect and adore from the producer – real name Ryan Aitchison.

‘DG Redux’ – premiering below – features an unmistakable vocal sample from Melba Moore’s 1978 disco classic ‘You Stepped Into My Life’, taking its soulful mood and throwing it into a shredder, giving it the warehouse ferocity Mella Dee has become known for in his DJ sets.
