Premiere: Laolu & Mr Raoul K 'Djougou Yah feat. Ahmed Sosso (Original Mix)'

Geneva-based Laolu and Lübeck-based Mr Raoul K join forces on their debut release on Compost Records. A deep, hypnotic cut carried by organic percussion, infectious bass and Ahmed Sosso’s distinct vocals...

Laolu and Mr Raoul K have fused their respective talents in their debut release for Munich label, Compost Records.

Teaming up again for the first time since 2014’s excellent ‘Sena Kela’ EP on Raoul’s Baobab label, the duo once again enlist Ahmed Sosso on vocal duties with terrific results. As he did on that EP – and on Manoo & Raoul K’s Innervisions EP ‘Toukan last year – Sosso delivers a vocal that is impassioned and unmistakable, embellishing the track's organic, West African inspired percussion and deep bass groove.

'Djougou Yah' also comes paired with a Perc Mix which is an equally infectious affair with its stripped back synths and reserved beat.

Artwork for the release comes from Edwin at Mainstudio Amsterdam who has also designed for the Dutch capital's marvellous De School club.

The single is out on 12" on 6th April. You can pre-order it here.
