Premiere: Graintable ‘Atlantis'

Oregon producer Graintable’s debut LP drops on the excellent Ransom Note Records next week – ‘Atlantis’ is a swirling, ethereal trip to lift you above the clouds to a space of ambient joy and clarity...

Oregon’s Graintable AKA James Cooke is set to release his debut LP, ‘Herons’, on London’s terrific Ransom Note Records next week. A lush, beautifully textured album in the vein of contemporaries Steve Hauschildt and Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, Cooke’s approach to ambience, energy and electronics is nothing short of stunning.

On ‘Atlantis’ – premiering below – swirling arpggios lift the listener from whatever foggy mental mire they’re in to a place of absolute clarity and space, the scope and space of the piece acting like a tonic for woozy souls.

An album that feels deeply rooted in the expanse of nature, Cooke has said that many of the tracks on ‘Herons’ are ‘inspired by the Oregon coast. Atlantis's melody is like a container ship floating aimlessly along a sea of swelling arpeggios in the early morning fog."

Needless to say, we adore it. Have a listen below, and pre-order the album here
