Major Lazer share ‘Afrobeats’ mixtape: Listen

17 tracks of Afrobeat-inspired new music...

US dance titans Major Lazer have dropped a brand new mixtape stuffed with afrobeat-inspired party tunes.

17 tracks and 30 minutes long, 'Afrobeats (DJ mix)' is released on streaming platforms via Diplo's record label Mad Descent.

Featuring fresh tunes from the North American trio as well as songs from other artists, the new release gives a flavour of what Diplo, Jillionaire and Walshy Fire have been exploring in 2018 so far.

Other musicians to grace the mixtape include Babes Wodumo from South Africa, Nigerian rapper Skales and Portugese musician DJEFF.

Other acts included hail from Ethiopia, Hong Kong and more.

The news comes after Major Lazer told fans to prepare for "new music all month" via Twitter.

Listing a number of tracks and artists they'd been collaborating with, the announcement was accompanied by pictures of their recent travels in Africa.

The release follows Diplo's recent work with Mark Ronson as Silk City and his side-project LSD with Sia and Labrinth
