Kissdafunk

Kissdafunk promoter and DJ Rob Tissera gives his Ibiza tips, and announces what KDF have planned for the coming season...

This year, Kissdafunk will make its Ibiza debut with two parties on the Space terrace, and one at Eden in San Antonio.

For those of you that don't know Kissdafunk, in the words of its head honcho, Rob Tissera, it's 'a fabulously fun party encompassing a cross-section of house,' from dirty electro through to vocal house.

Although only one year old, the Leeds-based night has a strong following and a reputation for having one of the 'sexiest' dancefloors in clubland.

Tissera has been involved in the dance music industry for 15 years, but Kissdafunk is the first club night promotion he's organised by himself.

The DJ is relishing the challenge of taking it to Ibiza: "I see it as a great opportunity to do something exciting on the new Space terrace," he says, "and we hope it will become part of Ibiza's future."

Some critics have said that Ibiza is past its heyday. But Rob is quick to reject this view, and asserts that his belief in its future can be seen through the fact he's taking Kissdafunk out there for the first time in 2005.

Yousef, Tom Neville, the Trophy Twins (who are residents), and Rob are just some of the better-known names to have graced Kissdafunk in the UK last year.

The aim of Kissdafunk, according to Tissera, is to become established as a decent club night, and not for just having superstar DJ line-ups.

"We try to pick the newest, freshest talent and then push them to grow with the night," reckons Rob.

At the KDF Ibiza parties, Filthy Rich and Drew Scott will join Rob.

Kissdafunk will host the Space Terrace on 15 July and 19 August, and will run from 6pm till midnight.

Kissdafunk and Dusted will co-host Eden on 22 July.
