Kala festival adds Todd Terje, The Black Madonna, Roy Ayers, Tom Misch, more

Albania is now officially on the global party map...

Kala festival has confirmed Todd Terje, The Black Madonna, Roy Ayers, Tama Sumo and Lakuti, and Tom Misch as the most recent additions to its inaugural edition, which takes place in the stunning coastal location of Kala, Albania, from 20th to 27th June.

Those names bolster an already impressive line-up, which we announced earlier this month. Luminaries such as Moodymann, Underground Resistance as Depth Charge (Mike Banks and Mark Flash), DJ 3000, Hot Chip presents Mega Mix, Alfredo, and Maurice Fulton will sidle up next to heads-down heroes and new schoolera like Andy 'World Unknown' Blake, Colleen 'Cosmo' Murphy, Nick The Record, John Gomez, Or:la, Ross From Friends, Peggy Gou, The Pilotwings, Jayda G, Kasra V, and Trojan Sound System.

Clearly not content with simply being another addition to an already-packed Balkan festival scene, musical diversity is only one of the main selling points for the 2,000 capacity soiree. Punters can expect to session their own private beach for the week, and parties also take place in woodland and on water, with boat parties set in the thin stretch of the Adriatic Sea separating the overwhelmingly green Greek island of Corfu from the similarly lush mainland Albania.

Albania is regarded as one of Europe's few corners still untouched by mass tourism, and is renowned for its jaw-dropping scenery and unique cultural assets. Understandably, then, there's a big push for attendees to explore the surrounding landscape while in the neighbourhood. Organised trips will offer a chance to see some of the area's breathtaking natural gems, including Blue Eye, Grama Bay, Ksamil, and Porto Palermo. Tickets start at £245, including accommodation, so our advice is to check the official website with haste.

The Black Madonna will join us for our annual DJ Mag Sessions pool party in Miami on Wednesday 21st March 2018. Head here  for more information and tickets.
