DJing For Africa

Derrick May will DJ alongside deep house legend Ron Trent in Chicago this Friday, to help raise money for charity.

Deep house legend Ron Trent will team up with Detroit's techno don Derrick May for a DJ session at his Chicago clubnight Africa Hi-Fi this Friday, to raise money for Africa.

Africa Hi-Fi takes place every second Friday at Sonotheque, The Windy City's most innovative lounge.

On April 7th from 9pm, the duo will offer a musical tribute to Africa and all that it has touched and influenced in world music, by fusing dance, jazz and world music coupled with visual arts and creative dance.

Derrick May shot to international stardom with the piano-laden classic tune 'Strings Of Life' while Ron Trent became an influential deep house figure with the equally classic and critically acclaimed 'Altered States'.

This should be a great night out for open-minded dance music lovers as techno meets deep house with a heavy fuel of African sounds on the outstanding Funktion One sound system.

A portion of the $15 cover charge will be donated to Amnesty International, the non-governmental organisation that actively promotes human rights, and NextAid, a non-profit organization dedicated to creating sustainable solutions for African children orphaned as a result of AIDS.
