Czech Republic Diversifies

Prague is to host a mulit-genre dance rave, something that signals the region's increasingly varied dance music scene.

The Czech Republic will see its very own TDK dance festival at then end of October, and will host an eclectic line-up of DJs for the region.

The most popular music in Eastern Europe has always been techno, but TDK Time Warp features trance, electro, and progressive house DJs as well as techno spinners, something that represents the region's movement towards diversification.

"TDK Time Warp is known as a techno event, but the dance music scene is growing in the Czech Republic," reports Kazmar from United Music, the company behind the event.

"Progressive house and trance are getting really popular, and so too is tech house.

"At our event, there are two stages and the likes of Sven Väth, Ricardo Villalobos, Mauro Picotto, Marco V, and Basti Schwarz from Tiefschwarz are playing," he added.

TDK Time Warp takes place at Prumyslovy Palace located in Prague's Exhibition Ground, on Saturday October 22, 2005.

"We're going to turn the Palace into a modern dance temple. Together with a 120kw sound system and the Czech party spirit, it will be an experience you shouldn't miss," said Ondrej Kazmar.

Electronics manufacturer TDK host music events all over Europe, including one in London's Kings Cross every August.
