Avicii’s unreleased album was “his best music in years”

Avicii revealed he was working on a new album to follow up 2015’s ‘Stories’ last year, and now Geffen Records president Neil Jacobson has revealed he feels the material is “his best music in years”.
Jacobson, a veteran A&R executive who started working with Avicii on ‘Levels’ and has continued through his subsequent releases, was speaking after Avicii – real name Tim Bergling – died last Friday (20th April).
“We were working on it and it was his best music in years,“ Jacobson said in a new interview with Variety. “Honestly. And I know because I [A&R’d] all of his albums.
“He was so inspired. He was so psyched. It’s just a tragedy. We have this incredible, magical music.”
Jacobson also revealed that he doesn't yet know whether the music will ever see release. “I’m going to sit down and talk to the family once everybody has a chance to take a breath,” he said.
“We’ll try to get some advice from the family and everybody’s going to put their heads together and try and do what we think Tim would want us to do.”
Earlier today, Oman authorities ruled that Avicii’s death is not being treated as suspicious.
Despite retiring from touring back in March 2016, Avicii landed number 28 in our DJ Mag Top 100 DJs Poll last year.
