Avicii awarded two posthumous Swedish Grammys

The Grammis took place last week

Avicii has been awarded two posthumous Swedish Grammys.

The late DJ and producer's posthumous album, 'TIM', was released in June 2019, and features collaborations with Imagine Dragons, Aloe Blacc, Coldplay’s Chris Martin, and Swedish duo Vargas & Lagola. The third studio-album from the artist, 'TIM' was completed after his death in April 2018, by various producers and artists, including Swedish songwriter and producer, Carl Falk.

The two Grammis were awarded to Avicii for both the album 'TIM', and song of the year for the collaboration with Aloe Blacc, 'SOS'.

In a post on Instagram, Falk wrote "Congrats everyone involved for receiving two Swedish Grammys for the album Tim. We worked hard all of us and the smile on Klas face says it all. Well done"

The Swedish equivalent of the Grammys, known in Sweden as Grammis, were awarded at the official Grammis ceremony on Friday 6th February in Stockholm.

An honorary Grammy was also presented to the late EDM superstar’s father, Klaus Bergling, at the Grammys ceremony in 2019.

Avicii's 'Wake Me Up' was named as the highest charting dance track of the last decade.
