ADEs are good!

It's no coincidence that since the inception of the Amsterdam Dance Event in 1996, Dutch music has slowly been infiltrating dance at every level, from its distinctive big name trancers down through the ranks of Dutch house producers to the techier underground sounds of labels such as 100% Pure.

Though Miami is still an essential industry jolly-up, ADE is now where the work gets done amongst cheeky trips to the coffee shops and rounds of frothy headed beers, its historic canals and huge, picturesque waterfront houses just a short flight away for the cream of European producers.

Add to that a huge pulling power across the Atlantic — check this year’s line-up which includes Carl Craig, Kelis, Todd Terry, Kevin Saunderson, DJ Pierre, Richie Hawtin, Derrick May, Moodymann and Hercules & Love Affair to name just a few — an array of top class venues including festival favourite, the mighty Melkweg, and conferences taking in everything from ‘How I saved Kylie’s career’ to an interview with Tom Tom Club, and you have no excuses not to Van Gogh!
