TOMORROWWORLD FESTIVAL-GOERS STRANDED AFTER FINAL DAY CLOSURE
Transportation to & from festival site halted resulting in chaos.
TomorrowWorld closed its doors to day ticket-holders on Sunday due to bad weather conditions.
The EDM festival, which took place in Atlanta over the weekend, announced that the final day of the event would only be open to campers.
Festival-goers who were not staying on-site were prevented from entering despite the event’s DJ sets continuing as scheduled.
“Continuous rainfall over the last three days has severely limited capacity of the parking lots, entrance roads and drop off locations in and around the festival site,” the festival organisers announced.
“The experience of the TomorrowWorld visitors is always TomorrowWorld's number one priority, so TomorrowWorld was forced to close all daily parking lots and drop off locations.”
Thousands of people leaving the festival on Saturday night were left stranded as a result of the decision. The festival is situated 30 miles southwest of Atlanta, accessible by shuttle buses provided by the festival.
According to Mashable, the festival halted shuttle buses to the site forcing many to walk several miles in search of alternative transportation. Festival-goers posted photos on Twitter of people sleeping on the roadside.

TomorrowWorld's transport woes come during a bumpy period for the fesitval's organisers SFX Entertainment. The events company, which also run Electric Zoo, Stereosonic and Voodoo Experience, are currently facing a lawsuit over CEO Robert F. X. Sillerman's failed attempt to take the company private earlier this year.
TomorrowWorld have confirmed that day ticket-holders will receive refunds.
