Eats Everything only really mashed a couple of tracks together for a bootleg DJ tool. Little was he to know how it would take off internationally...

The best British remix of the year, as voted for by you, is actually a bootleg. The man behind it, Bristol’s Eats Everything, has — as a result —  had a lot of flack for what people regard as him lazily putting two tracks together into one, albeit massive, new one. Truth is, he has taken no royalties for the remix as they have all gone to the label, and only put it out because he had so many people asking after it. 

“About 200 people sent me a video of me playing it and asking for an ID,” he enthuses down the phone.” The label were up for it, so it just made sense to get it out there.

It was actually born from playing at Bugged Out Weekender a few years back. I was playing my version of Ron Costa ‘Gez Uri’, and Breach had given me a copy of his track ‘Jack’. When I stuck it over the Ron Costa thing on the fly, the place went mental.”

It sure did, and since it got an official release, the rest of the world has also gone mental. The track actually made the mainstream charts in both the Netherlands and Italy, and as such gig requests for Eats from all over Europe have been flying in thick and fast.

Not one to milk his success, though, Pearce says that after New Year’s Eve he will no longer play the track, so if you want to hear the biggest remix of the year in all its stomping, strutting and posturing glory one last time, you know what you need to do.
